1. Check the delivery route first: the unit is 930 mm wide, 1041 mm deep and 1947 mm high and weighs 286 kg (net). Measure doors, lifts and stair turns.
2. Place it indoors on a firm, level floor, away from direct sunlight, heaters, autoclaves and ovens. Lock the casters or lower the levelling feet so it does not move.
3. Leave open space on all sides and at the back for air flow around the condenser, as given in the Blue Star manual.
4. Use a separate, properly earthed socket of the right rating. Use a voltage stabiliser where voltage goes up and down.
5. After delivery, let the unit stand upright for the time given in the Blue Star manual before switching it on.
6. Switch on empty, set the temperature and wait until it reaches the set point before loading samples or medicines.
7. Load gradually and do not block the air flow inside. Keep the door closed as much as possible.
8. Connect the remote alarm contact, RS485 port or USB data logger if your lab or pharmacy keeps temperature records.
9. Clean the condenser filter regularly (the ventilation cover clips open). Defrost manually when frost builds up.
