  • Inverter AC – the compressor slows down once the room is cool instead of switching on and off, so it uses less electricity when it runs for long hours.
  • Fixed speed (non-inverter) AC – lower purchase price; a good choice when the AC runs only a few hours a day.
  • Star rating – BEE star rating shows energy efficiency. A 5 star AC costs more to buy but less to run than a 3 star or 2 star model.
